North Queensland primary school, Holy Cross, has recently installed a Trex® Deck with recycled plastic kick rails from Replas. The installation was complete by Replas Pro WIP Construction using a composite fibre structure. Recycled plastic and Trex® material is the perfect fit for the northern Queensland environment as the material will not split, rot or crack and will not be eaten by the locals, termites. Recycled plastic kick rails are ‘profiles’, a range from Replas that varies in sizes and colours, allowing any installation to have and use exactly what they need. Trex® is built upon green principles and values, the decking is made from 95% recycled materials and reclaimed wood from woodworking operations, used pallets and/or sawdust. Trex® is the first company in the wood alternative decking industry to receive an International Code Council Evaluation Service® (ICC-ES)* SAVE Verification for Recycled Content. The joined products of Trex® and recycled plastic products from Replas will give Holy Cross Primary School an outstanding, literally, deck that will last the school many years.

In the largest town outside Geelong, a thriving holiday resort on the Bellarine Peninsula, Ocean Grove seaside area is home to Chris and Anne. Their new Trex® Deck installation exceeds all expectations, with the decking used as a screen, steps, and seating! “We wanted to thank Stephen and Kevin from Leisure Decking for doing a fantastic job replacing our old deck and screen with Trex® decking. They had included some interesting design features that we had not anticipated. We are delighted with the result! The quality of the workmanship is excellent and the boards look and feel great,” said Chris. “After some time researching recycled composite materials we decided to use Trex® because of the low maintenance, long life, timber like finish and the enthusiasm of Mark Jacobsen from Replas.” Chris and Anne could not be happier with their decking finish, an incredible addition to their beautiful home in Ocean Grove. With a 25 year warranty and environmentally friendly composite, it is a win-win for these home owners.
Down Mornington Peninsula in the town of Dromana, Rien and Caroline Crooymans enjoy their new beautiful Trex® Deck surrounding their ocean front home. “Caroline and myself didn’t want a big ostentatious house, we wanted something that was nice, appealing, and looked nice in the front – we wanted a big open space living area,” explained Rien. “It was very important to us to have a lovely outdoor living area and wanted to enhance the property with outdoor living decks. We have the deck in the front and wrapped around to the back and even used the deck as a staircase, and a view to die for in the front with a view of the ocean,” he continued. “We had a difficult decision to make in relation to the material for the decking because of the harsh Australian elements and the climate here, but we needed a material with very little maintenance and top quality appearance. With past experience of decking generally using timber, it was impossible to keep up with the maintenance.”
“Caroline by chance met a friend who had the Trex® composite decking down and they could not speak highly enough of the material and how good it was. When we visited the Trex® display room we loved the fact that the material is maintenance free, the 25 year warranty, absolutely no nails or screws that would become a burden and we just feel in love with the colours available. The Island Mist colours suits our home to a T, it blends in beautifully – just fantastic.”
“The installation of the Trex® decking we found was absolutely brilliant. The boards were long and straight and very easy to install with the clips. With the help of Rod and Nathan laying the boards, it just went in one after another. Very quick, very easy, and very professional,” concluded Rien.
