Fade, Stain & Scratch Resistant
Mother Nature’s worst continues to bring out our best. Whether a savage storm or a scorching summer, Transcend maintains its vibrant colour and luxurious finish. Same goes for man-made disasters. Wet planter pots, red-wine rings and dragged chaise lounges are no match for the Transcend fade, stain, scratch and mould resistant shell. For 25 years, you can count on the unparalleled fade and stain fighting performance of your Transcend Decking. Find out more about the Trex Transcend 25-year Limited Fade and Stain Warranty.
Trex® is built upon green principles and values. Our decking is made of 95% recycled materials and we save around 180 million kilos of plastic and wood scrap from landfills every year.
Our decking, in addition to reclaimed wood and sawdust, used to be plastic packaging.
Trex hasn’t felled one tree in all our years in the decking business and instead, we use what others don’t, including:
Reclaimed wood from woodworking operations
Sawdust (upwards of 90 million kilos a year)
Trex is the first company in the wood alternative decking industry to receive an International Code Council Evaluation Service® (ICC-ES)* SAVE Verification for Recycled Content.
Trex decking & railing contribute to a building’s enviable LEED points (a nationally accepted benchmark for design, construction and operation of high-performance green buildings).
Trex® and Static Electricity
While this is not common, static electricity can occur on walking surfaces in dry climates or in areas where dry winds and dust-borne particles lay on the decking surfaces. Static electricity can build up on occupants walking across any composite decking surface, including Trex, then produce a small static shock if they touch a grounded metal surface such as railing, doors etc.
This condition can be decreased greatly with the use of a product called ACL Staticide. Two products tested were General Purpose Staticide and Heavy Duty Staticide. Both are effective in greatly reducing static electricity on Trex decking surfaces. Apply full strength using a mop on a dry decking surface, and allow to dry. No rinsing, no diluting needed. Products are non-toxic, non-flammable, non-staining (will not change the colour of decking surface), completely biodegradable and safe to use. Product is water based and may require a second application after rain or other weather conditions. Over a period of time, the effect of static will dissipate naturally on the decking surface.
Virtually Maintenance Free
No sanding. No staining. No painting. No kidding. In fact, the only major piece of maintenance your Transcend decking requires is washing with soap and water or a pressure hose, compliments of the unyielding Transcend shell technology.
How Do I Remove Ground Dirt From Construction Of My Trex Transcend Decking?
A pressure washer with no greater than 3100 psi***** that has a fan attachment/adjustment and soap dispenser may be used to remove dirt, concrete dust, or other types of construction dirt. Spray deck with soap, and then follow by gently scrubbing each deck board with a soft bristle brush. Spray/rinse each individual deck board using fan tip no closer than 8″ from the decking surface. RINSE THOROUGHLY. If dirty water from cleaning is left to dry, this will cause a film to remain on the decking surface. ***** Use of a pressure washer greater than 3100 psi could damage the boards and void the warranty.
Trex high performance decking (Trex Transcend, Trex Enhance, and Trex Select) can be power washed. Use only a fan tip and up to a 3100 psi power washer to remove dirt and debris. The fan tip should be no closer than 8 inches (20.4 cm) away from the protective shell during use.
